Template:Infobox character

Zim is the main villainous protagonist of the animated series Invader Zim. Although he is the protagonist, Zim is morally, and ethically a villain, being overall a fairly unsympathetic character, though he occasionally shows some kindness towards certain characters. Nevertheless, he is prone to causing chaos and destruction for either himself, his own race, or Earth.

Personality[]

Zim is, as previously noted, an Irken with megalomaniacal, sadistic, sociopathic, paranoid, and narcissistic personality traits. He usually ends up being a danger to himself and his own people, but he still considers himself a mighty Irken warrior. Though he isn't technically evil, he is truly a human-hating xenophobe with full intentions of pleasing his masters and taking over Earth.

Background[]

Zim was sent into exile by the Almighty Tallests due to Zim accidentally almost destroying Irk with a massive robot assault walker, destroying entire buildings and military vehicles in his path and possibily killing dozens of other Irkens and ruining Operation Impending Doom (OID 1 for short) for not knowing that he was attacking the wrong planet. As punshment, Zim was sent into exile to Food Courtia. During the Great Assigning for Operation Impending Doom ll, Zim escaped and made it to Irk where he expected to be given an assigned planet, but instead was given a sandwich and was told to leave. In response to his refusal to leave, Zim was sent to Earth unaware that the Tallests thought it was fake and was given GIR, a SIR unit (Self Information Retrieval Unti) made from garbage and other junk that was defected from the others.

After arriving on Earth, Zim and GIR established a base of operations disguised as a pleasant-looking suburban house. From here, Zim would concoct various plots to conquer the planet, but also required further intelligence to advance his plans. Disguising himself (poorly) as a human schoolboy, Zim would start attending school to learn more about humans. Even though his disguise consisted of nothing but a hairpiece and contact lenses, most of the school children and faculty were none the wiser. The only person to recognise that Zim wasn't human was Dib, but nobody believed his accusations.

Though Zim was hell-bent on conquering Earth and destroying humanity, his plans would always fail, undone either by Dib, the stupidity of GIR, or by sheer random happenstance. Regardless of how often and how badly his plans fell apart, Zim refused to give up. Even after being flat-out told by other Irkens that the Tallest had sent him to Earth just to be rid of him, Zim continued his efforts to conquer the planet for the glory of the Irken Empire.
