The Wunk is a creature from turn-of-the-century North American folklore.
Description[]
Originating with the lumberjack culture’s tradition of hazing new immigrants, not much is known about the Wunk as nobody has ever set eyes upon one. Being an incredibly shy creature, as soon as a Wunk becomes aware of an approaching human, it quickly digs itself a hole, climbs in, then fills in the hole behind itself in order to hide.
Interestingly, Wunks are said to be able to shapeshift into any other animal they please, even humans, but for reasons known only to themselves choose not to do so.
