Wither

The Wither

Wither is a boss mob from Minecraft that is summoned when 4 soul sand blocks in a T-shape with 3 wither skulls are stacked on each other. The skulls are usually placed on top of the T-Shape, then it breaks, spawning in the mob. This mob appears in Mojang's Minecraft game.

Appearance[]

Withers usually appear as 3 headed undead monsters from the nether. They have 3 heads with a skull like shape on their heads, they have white glowing eyes similar to Herobrine. They have 6 arms or tentacles on their tails. They usually make strange ghostly shrieking sounds and when hit, they make odd noises.

Behavior[]

When spawned with 4 souls sands placed in T-Shape, and 3 wither skulls on top of each other dropped by wither skeletons rarely. The blocks break and it spawns in the mob. It will explode when it reaches full health, it will fly over and attack the player by firing dangerous explosive wither skulls at the player. They explode on contact dealing damage to the player. The player is able to fire at them with ranged weapons until its health reaches to half in boss bar. Then it needs to be attacked with Melee weapons. Once they are defeated, they will be slain, or explode (Bedrock Edition Only), and eventually will drop a nether star, which can be used to craft a beacon. On bedrock edition it's also able to do a charge attack smashing everything in it's way, and when damaged in all versions, it breaks nearby blocks, except bedrock and barrier and water/lava blocks.

Somehow on hardmode the wither has more health, and it's range attacks are much more faster in repeating. When they are down at health, withers spawn their skeleton minions: Wither skeletons. To help them out. Their wither skulls in hardmode now deal more damage and apply the player and other mobs wither effects. The wither effect can damage and kill the player unless if they drink a milk bucket.

Although they don't just attack the player in survival mode, but they attack other mobs except for undead mobs, and including Ghasts.

Strategy[]

There are likely 2 ways to defeat a wither, the first one is going to the end. Beat the ender dragon first, then dig a large room under the end portal, then place 2 obsidian blocks with 2 block space, fill in the ceiling with another flat area of blocks, then place soul sand in t shape but with a T shape on the 2 obsidian blocks, when it spawns it will begin to suffocate and will struggle to attack the player, the player can kill it easily by damaging it hard with their melee weapons.

The second and last way is usually by beds. Place some beds in the same place where the first method of defeating the wither was, and the beds will damage the wither, causing it's health to drop out more faster and will drain more larger.

Powers and abilities[]

  • Explosive skulls - They can shoot dangerous explosive skulls that will explode on contact, dealing high damage on the player.
  • Charge attack (Bedrock Edition only) - They are able to charge at the player, dashing at them and breaking other blocks in their path
  • Wither skeleton minion spawning - On hardmode, they spawn wither skeletons to help them out, which makes the boss fight more tricky.
  • Explosions - The wither is capable of exploding when spawned, but is also capable of exploding when it dies (Bedrock Edition Only)
  • Ranged Shield - When the wither is half health on boss bar, it will create a shield that prevents mobs from attacking it with ranged weapons.
  • Shrieking - The sounds it makes can shriek, but at a hissing sound mixed with the sounds it makes.
  • 2 Head attackers - Sometimes when the main head isn't noticing, the other ones are still able to fire other mobs, allowing them to kill other mobs easier.
  • Destroyer - The wither is capable of destroying whenever it's damaged and hit, destroying some blocks that are close to it.

Trivia:[]

  • The Wither is one of the hardest mobs in minecraft, as well as one of the mobs that has the most health throughout the game, only to be beaten by the warden, a new mob that was added in the game in 1.19 The wild update.
  • The Wither is possibly the ghost of Herobrine, which it may say it came to collect souls for those who vanished. Herobrine was chosen, though this was a very unlikely theory.
