Viy is the king of gnomes in Nikolai Gogol's short story of the same name from 1835. Although his appearance is brief, you can gather that he is an entity revered by creatures who pay homage to the Devil.
Viy is a short creature with heavy, elongated eyelids that he cannot raise by himself. Eyelids cover a face that's made of iron.
Powers/Abilities[]
Once someone raises his eyelids he can see just about everything. There's no use hiding from him.
Weaknesses[]
Only magic circle blocks his view, and even that can be penetrated if you look at him while his eyes are unobstructed.
