The Uriaș Străjer (Romanian for "Sentinel Giant") is a sub-boss from the survival-horror video game Resident Evil Village. This creature is the older brother of Uriaș both before and after Cadou infection. Appearing towards the end of the game, this monster acts as the guardian of the Megamycete.
Biology[]
The Uriaș Străjer stands slightly taller than the standard Uriaș and wears a dirty coat, trousers and boots. It also wears crude metallic armour covering its face and shoulders and carries a giant, spiked mace as its weapon. Its most notable biological difference, however, is the set of parasitic tentacles protruding from its back. It has no use for these tendrils and the growth on its back acts as a weak spot, as the rest of its body is seemingly immune to gunfire.
History[]
As Mother Miranda carried out the ceremony to convert Rosemary Winters into a vessel for the consciousness of her daughter Eva, the Megamycete began extending massive Mold growths throughout the area, destroying most of the village. At this time, the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance arrived in the area as well as the seperate tactical unit Hound Wolf led by former BSAA operative Chris Redfield. After battling through a seemingly endless horde of Lycans, Redfield made it to a pit that led into the cave where the Megamycete was located.
Within the pit, Chris encountered the Uriaș Străjer. With little room to maneuver, Chris struggled to evade the giant's attacks, but was supported by fellow operative John "Lobo" Perlman who provided fire support. After Chris tagged the Uriaș Străjer with a targeting device, Lobo fired on the monster from a V-22 Osprey with heavy weaponry. The combined assault overwhelmed the monster, which died and calcified upon death. With the Uriaș Străjer defeated, the way was clear for Chris to reach the Megamycete and plant high explosives within the cavern.
