Trolls are hulking, giant humanoid monsters that have appeared in various forms of literature and other media. These creatures actually originate from Norse mythology and were said to be aggressive, tribal giants that dwelled in caves and on mountains. The appearance of trolls often varies, but commonly they are described as being large, bulky creatures similar to ogres with dirty skin tones, little clothing save for an animal-skin loincloth, little to no hair and gnarled teeth and tusks. Trolls are also commonly regarded as dim-witted brutes and are believed to eat humans. In many works of fiction and in Scandinavian folklore, trolls are also stated to turn into stone when they are exposed to sunlight.
