Titans were a species of god-like demons that once roamed the Demon Realm in Disney's animated series, The Owl House. In current times, they are virtually extinct, with King Clawthorne being the last known survivor of their race.
Overview[]
Millennia ago, before witches inhabited the Demon Realm, Titans roamed freely. Very little is known about them as most information has been lost to time, but they were colossal in size, as evidenced by the continent-sized carcasses and skeletons that can be found across the Demon Realm. They were also extraordinarily powerful, with magic making up their very being. Even long after they went extinct, their natural magic still permeates their remains and is responsible for shaping all life currently found in the Demon Realm. The blood of Titans is extremely potent and can be used to power all kinds of magical devices. Even humans are capable of utilizing a Titan's natural magic through the use of glyphs.
Titans are known to have reproduced by laying eggs. The eggs are miniscule in comparison to an adult Titan, being about the size of a small dog. Presumably, this means that it takes many years, even centuries, for Titans to reach their full size. King claims to remember hearing the roar of his father while still inside his egg, suggesting that Titans mature over a period of millennia.
The Titans disappeared some time after their planet was visited by a group of celestial beings known as the Archivists. These beings from the stars sent their youngest sibling down to the Titans' world to learn about them and to play with them. The Titans greeted the child warmly, allowing him to play with their children. However, the Archivists would soon discover that the magic of the Titans could cancel out their own magic. Seeing the Titans as a threat, they waged a war of extermination against them. Although the Titans' magic could nullify that of the Archivists, they still ultimately lost the war. Only one Titan survived the conflict as well as his lone egg, which he would protect until his dying day. The Titan even discovered that the Collector had been left behind by the Archivists. Fearing that the Collector harboured malicious intent, he sealed the star-child away, trapping him in the In-Between Realm. This process also trapped the Titan's spirit within the In-Between and his body fell into the Boiling Sea. Over the millennia, as witches and demons came to populate the Demon Realm, the Titan's carcass would form the archipelago known as the Boiling Isles.
Appearance[]
King, the last living Titan
Titans were immeasurably powerful beings that could reach colossal size. Based on King's appearance, they were anthropomorphic, bipedal creatures that resembled canines, with fur-covered bodies and exterior skulls covering the upper half of the head. Their skulls were also adorned with horns, though the exact number of horns and their shape differed from Titan to Titan. King possesses a bushy tail similar to that of a fox, though whether all Titans had similar tails is a mystery. At least some Titans were known to have wings similar to those of a dragon.
Powers and abilities[]
The full extent of a Titan's power is unknown, but they possess incredibly potent magic that they generate within their own bodies and could manifest in the form of various glyphs. Such glyph spells included accelerating plant growth, generating orbs of light, conjuring fire, creating ice constructs and generating energy barriers. These glyphs could even be combined in order to create new types of spells.
As well as glyph magic, Titans also possessed the power to cancel out Archivist magic. This power could also be used to seal Archivists within the In-Between Realm, as Papa Titan had done to the Collector.
