Termagants (Latin: Gauntii virago) are a type of Tyranid biological construct which feature in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe. One of the most prolific members of the ubiquitous Gaunt genus, they specialise in delivering overwhelming amounts of short-ranged firepower.
Description[]
In common with many Tyranid species, Termagants are vaguely-insectoid beasts with a chitinous carapace and six limbs. The rear two pairs are most commonly used for locomotion, whilst the first pair can be equipped with a large variety of inbuilt organic projectile weapons. These weapons range from rifles which can throw bony harpoons at opponents, to stomach-like muscles which vomit out clusters of tiny flesh-eating parasites, to creatures which spit out constricting webs of incredible strength. Regardless of which particular biomorph the Termagants are equipped with, they rely on sheer volume of fire to overwhelm any opponent unfortunate enough to stand in their way.
