Tanemon is a Baby-level Bulb Digimon. It is a small, rounded plant creature with a pair of leaves growing from its top. It also sports a white face, four small feet and a pair of brown eyes resembling seeds.
Tanemon is born when Newborn Digimon such as Yuramon and Nyokimon find optimal environments with healthy soil to settle in. Due to its extremely timid personality, if it senses an intruder's presence, it will burrow and bury part of its body in the ground. Only the stalk on its top will remain above ground and serves to fool enemies into thinking that it is just a harmless plant. This trick is not so effective against herbivorous Digimon who often attempt to snack on the stalks.

Tanemon's only attack is Bubble Blow. It spits acidic bubbles as a means of distracting a foe and giving itself time to run away.
