Its about a boy named Darren who goes to an illegal freak show called Cirque du Freak with his best friend Steve. Steve loves vampires and he reconizes a preformer as one. After a series of horrifying events, Darren must fake his death and travel with the vampire and become a half-vampire himself. It is a 12 book saga and the best I ever read. there is also another saga comming out by Darren shan called the saga of Larten Crepsley about Darren's Vampire mentor's life. The second book, Oceans of Blood is going to come out on the 28th of April. I'm So exited! LONG LIVE DARREN SHAN!!!!!!!

Okay, to the user who said vampires were fake: We know they're not real but this wiki is supposed to have pages about FICTIONAL monsters. So if you want to say they're fake, we KNOW
Actually RealWaba, that statement is somewhat innacurate. Since we now have deity pages, we can't just say those are fiction, since someone believes them, you know? I'm mean no offence, but with those pages that statement in not totally correct. And the fact we have cryptids also somewhat prove my point, since their existence is disputed. Again no offence, I just felt that statement was inaccurate. ZombieKiller123 02:21, April 12, 2012 (UTC)ZombieKiller123

No offense taken. I can see now what you mean seeing as we have pages about deities and other religious figures. Vampires are widely accepted as fiction though, so what I meant was don't say creatures that are already half based on new modern fiction stories aren't real. A lot of the information on the Monster Wiki does not quite follow the original interpertation of a creature and is based on the modern view of said creature. So the act of disproving them is not needed
I have made a Vampire page on the new-monster.wikia.com which is a bit more informative than the one here. Devo DrakeFox (talk) 14:18, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
The truth about vampires[]
My understanding of vampies is that they are brutal, vicious killers out for blood, as that is the food they prefer...or drink...or whatever they call it. They don't like the taste of garlic, their skin is sensitive to sunlight, and don't have all the powers they are thought to have. Sounds like somebody just wanted to make a WAAAYYYY overpowered monster.
