Sublime is a recurring villain from Marvel comics, establishing himself primarily as an antagonist of the X-Men, where he is depicted as an alien bacteria that is bent on conquering the world and killing off its main competition, Homo Superior.
Biography[]
Sublime is a primordial being that came to Earth in the distant past and began to infect the native population, for some time the bacteria flourished and saw himself as Earth's true master and dominant "species", yet Sublime would find this supposed superiority challenged when mutants began to surface, these new human variants had an immunity to Sublime, making infecting them incredibly difficult and due to his power-hungry nature Sublime grew paranoid that mutants could increase in number and become competition.
Over centuries Sublime fought a not-so-hidden war against mutants, overseeing the creation of many living weapons such as Captain America, Super-Sentinels, Fantomex, Huntsman and Ultimaton (Weapon XIII, Weapon XII and Weapon XV), he also had some part of Weapon X, which would result in super-beings such as Nuke, Deadpool and Wolverine.
Sublime also masterminded the creation of the U-Men cult, humans who took to harvesting mutant body parts to graft onto themselves, gaining superhuman powers as a result, the U-Men would be considered a "third breed" by Sublime and his idealized future race by which to conquer the world, he viewed humans and mutants alike with contempt (referring to them as "cattle").
Throughout the years Sublime would cause many great troubles for the X-Men, most notably by weaponizing a part of himself to create the mutant "drug" known as Kick, which finally allowed him to influence mutants and drive them into violent psychosis.

- Micro-Organism Physiology (Sublime is a network of alien bacteria capable of possessing any living life-form, originally he had trouble infecting mutants but has since began to evolve and counter them.)
