The Sturm is a B.O.W. that appears in Resident Evil Village. Created by Karl Heisenberg, the Sturm is an experimental variant of the Soldat. It was manufactured using a human corpse infected with a Cadou, modified with machinery. Heisenberg would graft an entire aircraft engine onto the Sturm's body. While it may look ridiculous and nonsensical, it is still an extremely deadly creature.
The name "Sturm" is derived from the German word for "storm".
Biology[]
The Sturm was created in the same manner as its fellow Soldaten, being a human augmented with extensive cybernetics and powered by a Cadou parasite. Its most notable feature is the massive turboprop engine mounted on its torso, with three chainsaw blades that essentially turn it into a lethal walking rotary fan. Unlike most Soldaten, its reactor exhaust was located on its back instead of the front.
Despite its top-heavy design and lack of arms (the latter apparently being due to it sticking them into its own propeller), the Sturm seems to have no difficulty walking and running around. Heisenberg's notes describe it as having very low intelligence, although it still seems cognizant enough to recognize his voice and obey his commands.
History[]
After arriving at the factory, Ethan Winters met Heisenberg, who asked Ethan to join him in fighting against Mother Miranda. When Ethan refused, Heisenberg kicked him down a hole into a waste depository where he was attacked by the Sturm. Ethan was able to escape temporarily, but the mindless cyborg pursued him through the factory.
Eventually, Ethan was forced to confront the Sturm in order to reach the factory control room. He dodged the creature's charging attacks, planting mines on the floor to stun it and then fired into the exhaust port on its back. The Sturm began to overheat as it took damage and eventually collapsed and exploded.
Combat[]
Since its head is completely concealed, it is unclear how the Sturm tracks its prey, though it may react to vibrations. Its main method of attack is to simply run towards a foe and slice them apart with its rotary blades.
Gunfire to the Sturm's front has little to no effect, but it can be temporarily stunned by landmines. The thermal exhaust vent on its back is its weak spot, though it takes a considerable amount of firepower to finally kill the creature.
Furthermore, after taking a set amount of damage, the Sturm's engine begins to overheat and emit flames. To keep itself from imploding, the Sturm can release the excess heat from its front in the form of a stream of fire, incinerating anyone standing in front of it.
