Squirtle is a Water-type Pokémon that resembles a light blue turtle. Originally discovered in Kanto, these Pokémon became very popular and are now commonly bred to be given to new Trainers.

When born, Squirtles shells are soft and malleable, but will harden within a matter of days. Squirtle's shell becomes so resilient that poking fingers will bounce off of it. Though rarely shown, Squirtle has a long neck. In battle, it will retreat into its shell for protection and quickly strike back by spewing jets of water from its mouth. These water blasts can be quite powerful.
Special Abilities
Below is a list of some of the abilities commonly used by Squirtle.
- Bubble - Squirtle shoots a spray of foam from its mouth.
- Withdraw - Squirtle hides within its shell, raising its defence.
- Water Gun - A powerful jet of water spewed from Squirtle's mouth at high speed.
- Rapid Spin - Squirtle retreats into its shell and spins rapidly, preventing anything from touching it.
Evolution
Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at Level 16.
