The Split Face - also dubbed Spiderthing - is a type of Necromorph featured in the novel Dead Space: Martyr. Made from multiple human corpses, this creature is described as a cross between a spider and "the whirling blades of death". It is unknown how many bodies were fused together to form this Necromorph, but the Martyr novel describes its body as a heap of human torsos buckled and overlapping each other with two heads that look as though they are barely connected and ready to drop off. The Split Face has seven legs, each limb ends in a scythe-like blade of bone much like those of the Slasher and Pregnant Necromorphs. On the creature's underbelly is a yellow and black growth filled with a volatile fluid that explodes when ruptured.
