Specimen 10 is an enemy from the game Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion. It is a parasite who first appears in Room 617.
Powers and Abilities
Specimen 10 can possess and infect people that come in contact with it as seen with the scientist it currently uses as a host. The Specimen is also capable of turning into a leech-like creature when the Protagonist is far away from it, said leech is also faster than the Protagonist being able to catch up with them in mere seconds.
Appearance
Specimen 10 is a parasite who has a humanoid body but lacks arms, it’s composed of both the yellowish parasitic layer which makes up the upper part of the body and the bare human-like legs which make up the bottom part. Specimen 10 can also split open its torso into two parts with small teeth on the “walls” on the inside of its mouth.
The leech form of Specimen 10 is large but is noticeably smaller than any humans, it has the same colors as its humanoid appearance and has a segmented body to the early version of the Specimen. The inside of the mouth has two rows of teeth and is similar to the mouth of its previous form.
History
Past
Specimen 10 was among the monsters that were found and contained by the research company, GL Labs many years ago although where it lived before and when it was taken is unknown but it seemed to live in the facility of Room 617 inside the mansion and was loose which led to the scientists evacuating but one stayed behind and tried to capture the Specimen only for it to presumably kill the scientist and take control of their body.
Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion
Specimen 10 is encountered by the Protagonist directly after Specimen 8 (due to Specimen 9 only appearing if the player stays idle in any room for too long), it kills the old Specimen 10 by bursting out of its head once it gets discovered by the player and chases after them until they escape it and head to Specimen 11’s room. The player can only prevent the appearance of Specimen 10’s leech form if they stay in its view until it leaves them alone.
Endless Mode
Specimen 10 appears alongside the other monsters chasing the player with its gameplay mechanics mostly being the same.
Spooky’s Dollhouse
Specimen 10 was most likely destroyed along with the mansion, sent back to Hell or the soul of its host ascended to Heaven.
Trivia
Akuma Kira used parasitic aliens from different media such as the Thing from the John Carpenter film of the same name as the inspiration for Specimen 10.
