Space Girl is an Energy Vampire, that is not native to Earth. She is among 3 vampires that visited the planet in the 1985 film Lifeforce, portrayed by Mathilda May.
History[]
Little is known about her and her companions, however what is known is that she has destroyed multiple worlds and had visited Earth in the distant past. By 1985 however, Halley's Comet, which they used as a means of transport over long distances, was nearing Earth and the space shuttle Churchill, was sent to analyze the comet. This was where they discovered the ship, leading several astronauts, including Col. Tom Carlsen to investigate the vessel's interior. They discover several dead bat-like creatures and bag one for further analysis, before finding the 3 remaining vampires, including the Space Girl in suspended animation within crystalline coffins. Taken aboard the vessel, the shuttle returned home, however during the flight, she and her companions would drain the life from those aboard, with only Carlsen remaining, as she shared her energy with him and vice versa. He would then attempt to kill them by destroying the samples and starting a fire aboard before abandoning ship. The 3 vampires however survived, as their coffins had remained undamaged.
When no response came from the shuttle, another was sent as a rescue party, which recovered the intact coffins and brought them to S.R.C. in the UK, where the Space Girl's coffin opened by itself. She remained in her slumber, following her removal from the coffin, until a researcher was alone with her and attempted to exhume the body, believing her dead. As he touched her, her eyes opened and she rose from the table, removing his equipment and then draining him of his life energy completely. Dr. Leonard Bukovsky would go to investigate, only for the woman to partially drain him of his energy as well before leaving. She strolled the halls of the S.R.C, completely naked, which got the attention of several guards, who attempted to stop her, only for her to utilize her abilities to keep them at bay and also escape. She would begin to also feed on a young blonde woman before taking her clothes and continuing onward. Not long following Col. Carlsen's return to Earth, the Space Girl invades his dreams and takes more energy from him, while also making physical contact. Following this, it's confirmed he now possesses a psychic link with the vampire and is able to locate her, possessing the body of a long curly-haired woman named Ellen, who Carlsen and SAS Col. Colin Caine visit and force her out of the body.
The Space Girl then inhabits the body of Dr. Armstrong, who is tricked into believing one of the inmates at the asylum he works at, is under her power. Heavily sedated, the vampire speaks through Armstrong's body, revealing that her original body was based on Carlsen's desire of the perfect woman, as well as learning their language via telepathy. Maintaining the sedation of Armstrong while on route to the S.R.C, the Space Girl escapes, creating a brief hemokinetic construct of her own body before returning to her own in London. It's also here that her two male companions have begun the process of collecting the life energy of the populace in London, turning them into zombies, as well as collecting all the energy taken into their ship now orbiting the planet. At the same time however, she calls out for Carlsen, who she wishes to come to her at the St. Paul's Cathedral, where her remaining male vampire companion and her are channeling the taken energies. She desires the energy she gave to Carlsen back and continues to call for him. Once he arrives at the cathedral, where they begin to transfer each other's energies. She also reveals, much to his shock, that he is and always has been on of her species. Col. Caine, who followed Carlsen to the cathedral, is able to get his attention and tosses him a leaded-iron sword, which he uses to impale both himself and the Space Girl. Shouting in pain, both ascend to the ship, where they leave Earth.

While on Earth, she takes on the form of a radiant Caucasian female with black hair and dark brown eyes, standing at 5'7" tall, weighing in between 122-149 lb. Most of the time she is on Earth, she is shown to walk about completely naked, however has donned a white gown during her time at the cathedral.
Personality & Traits[]
The Space Girl is an extremely dangerous creature to be encountered, regardless of what race steps in her path. She is seductive to her victims in order to feed upon their life energy and takes pleasure in the suffering of those who attempt to stop her. Despite this, she does possess feelings, particularly those of love for Col. Tom Carlsen.
Powers & Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Energy Vampire Physiology: The Space Girl is an energy vampire, which means that rather drinking the blood of the species she has encountered, she essentially feeds upon the "souls" of her victims, as a way to maintaining both her life, as well as her abilities.
- Immortality: The Space Girl is able to remain dormant in a state of suspended animation, allowing her to preserve her form. This is due to the energies she and her companions have taken from other lifeforms. In effect, she and others like her are effectively immortal, so long as such requirements are met.
- Superhuman Durability: While the Space Girl looks frail, she is far from it. Should her body receive physical damage from weapons like blades or bullets, she will not be hindered. However, should weapons such as explosives be used, it's highly likely her body is capable of being destroyed.
- Ergonkinesis: The Space Girl, like her companions, demonstrate the ability to manipulate energy in various ways:
- Ergokinetic Absorption: One of their more well known abilities, is the ability to drain any known species of their life energy, in order to maintain their own vitality and powers. They can do this either fully or partially. While partially drained victims will remain relatively intact, fully drained victims however, are turned into mummified husks. They typically need to feed, following a 2 hour period of time. Even in a dormant state, this ability is demonstrated.
- Ergokinetic Blasts: The Space Girl is able to generate powerful energy blasts, allowing her to incapacitate or kill her foes outright. It's also easy to move obstacles from her path as well.
- Ergokinetic Healing: Likely through her feeding on life energy, the Space Girl is capable of healing her body from physical injury.
- Ergokinetic Transference: As she is capable of absorbing life energy, the Space Girl is also capable of transferring it to those of her choosing, as well as towards their ship in a mass quantity.
- Reanimation: As with all vampires, the Space Girl's victims are capable of reanimation after a 2 hour period. After which, they need to find sources of life energy to sustain themselves, otherwise they will die. The bodies of their victims typically revert to that of a shriveled husk and either lays down and dies or explodes. While this ability only works on individual victims, on a much more massive scale however is dramatically different. Those drained on a massive scale do not become vampires, but zombies, which essentially go and seek out others. Victims of either form of infection do not hinder their sires.
- Possession: Unlike her victims and those of her male companions, the Space Girl and her cohorts are the only 3 capable of transferring and possessing the bodies of others. This is either as a way of operating without revealing the true location of their actual bodies or as a necessity, should their bodies be destroyed. The Space Girl was able to easily possess 2 bodies prior to returning back to her original.
- Haemokinesis: The Space Girl was the only one capable of demonstrating the ability to create a construct of her body from the blood of 2 men. She was able to do this before the construct lost its form and end up as a massive mess on the wall of a helicopter.
- Shapeshifting: Like her cohorts, the Space Girl's human appearance is not her natural form, but one of many. Their actual form is that of a massive demonic bat-like creature. It's through their use of telepathy that they can change their forms at will.
- Telepathy: Like her cohorts, the Space Girl is able to enter the minds of those in close proximity of them, as a way of learning the language and physical appearances of a species, particularly the appearance of an individual's desired mate. In the Space Girl's case however, she took on the form of Col. Tom Carlsen's desired mate.
Abilities[]
- Nigh-Omnilingualism: As she encounters more and more species, reading their thoughts and taking their appearances, it's logical to assume that she knows the languages of hundreds, if not, thousands of different worlds, both she's destroyed and killed upon.
- Seduction: As with many women, the physical appearance of the Space Girl is easily alluring to both sexes.
Weaknesses[]
- Life Energy Dependency: Like her cohorts and victims, the Space Girl needs to regularly feed upon her victim's life energy, at least once every 2 hour intervals. Failure to do so would likely result in the slowly weakening of her own abilities and eventual death.
- Leaded-Iron Weaponry: Weapons made of leaded-iron are able to kill both her and her male companions, if impaled through the energy core 2 inches below her heart.
