Skulteras are a species of fish native to the planet Zebes in the Metroid universe. They appear in Metroid Zero Mission, Super Metroid and Metroid: Other M. X Parasites mimicking Skulteras appear in Metroid Fusion.
Skulteras can be found in the waters of Maridia and Crateria on Zebes. They have segmented bodies covered in barbs and crescent-shaped heads. Their mouths are filled with razor-sharp teeth. Highly aggressive, they will attack anything that approaches them. They swim rapidly when attacking, ramming and biting at prey. They are not especially durable, however, and Samus Aran is able to kill them easily with either her Charge Beam or Missiles.
