Silurids are Neverborn creatures which appear in Wyrd Games’ Malifaux universe.
Description[]
A species of swamp-dwelling amphibians, Silurids are a species of semi-reptilian creatures who are on the verge of achieving true sentience. Whilst most of those who venture into the swamps view the Silurids as three distinct species, the truth is that these individuals are encountering these beasts at different levels in their maturity.

Gupps[]
- The most commonly encountered of the creatures, Gupps are the infant stage of the Silurids. Small humanoids with the head of a lizard and possessed of large eyes and sharp teeth, whilst an individual Gupp poses little threat to an adult human, these diminutive creatures tend to travel in groups, and are watched over by the much larger - and far more dangerous - Swamp Mothers.
Silurids[]
- The animals referred to by humans as Silurids are the adult stage of the species’ breeding cycle. Stealthy and fast, these creatures hunt in packs, their poisonous talons being more than able to deal with most who intrude upon their territory. Capable of of leaps spanning many dozens of metres, adult Silurids have a tendency to enter a kind of feeding frenzy once they taste fresh blood.

Swamp Mothers[]
- The largest of the Silurids are female, and the matriarchal heads of their colonies. Larger than a fully-grown man, these monsters are fearsome opponents indeed, especially when the health of their young is at stake.
History[]
Largely ignored by the human population of Malifaux as nothing more than simple swamp-beasts, the Silurids have recently taken notice of the city of Malifaux, and have begun to wonder how they can be more like the strange creatures which inhabit it. The ability of humans to build and maintain such grand structures as factories and warehouses in particular has grabbed their attention.
In truth, the Silurids have already mastered basic tool use and manufacture, and are well on their way to becoming a civilisation of their own. Whether they will survive the inevitable conflict with humankind that this will entail is another matter entirely . . .
