Shadows are incorporeal creatures of absolute darkness from Dungeons & Dragons. Chaotic evil by nature, these spirits appear as literal shadows of people or objects, or even shapeless patches of darkness. They are capable of sapping the life force of other creatures with a mere touch and those who perish by a Shadow's touch are doomed to become Shadows themselves.
