The Search Ghost is a type of Emblem Heartless that appears in Kingdom Hearts. This spectral creature appears humanoid, save for a ghostly whisp of a tail where its legs ought to be. It has a spherical head with wide eyeholes and two yellow eyes with spiral-shaped pupils. The right eye dangles out of its eyehole on a chain. The Search Ghost also appears to wear a dark purple suit emblazoned with the Heartless emblem and its hands appear to be white gloves with extra-long fingers.
Search Ghosts can be found in Halloween Town, Atlantica, Monstro, and in Traverse Town following Maleficent's defeat at Hollow Bastion. They will normally stand idle until Sora, Donald or Goofy enter the range of the searchlights shining from their eyes, at which point they become active. They move slowly, but they can attack from a distance with their disembodied hands. When they scratch Sora, Search Ghosts can steal a small portion of HP. They also have a tendency to teleport behind their prey.
