The Saharduin, also referred to as Piscean Warriors, are a race of alien which feature in Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Standing around seven-and-a-half feet tall, the Saharduin resemble nothing more than anthropomorphic sharks. With long, finned tails, and mouths filled with several rows of vicious teeth, they are an aquatic species, but compensate for their inability to breath air through the use of helmet-harnesses, which circulate a supply of oxygenated saltwater through their gills when venturing above the waves. Needless to say, they are a technically sophisticated race, possessing not only several forms of unique weaponry, but also the capability of interstellar travel.
History[]
In the far distant past of the Imperium of Man, humanity waged war against the Saharduin, but were unable to bring the fight to an acceptable conclusion. In an effort to cease the senseless waste of munitions and lives, the Imperium finally settled on the solution of blockading Saharduin worlds with containment fleets, and contented themselves with bottling the species up in their own systems. For many long years, these blockades remained in effect, with only the occasional Saharduin ship managing to slip past the guardian fleets.
Unfortunately for the Saharduin, at some point during the Great Crusade - the Emperor of Mankind’s reconquest of the scattered human worlds of the the galaxy after years of division - the existence of this arrangement was uncovered by the genetically-engineered Space Marine legion of the Space Wolves, who saw the blockades as a waste of valuable resources, and descended upon the Saharduin worlds en masse and annihilated every last one of the poor creatures.
In the 41st millennium, the Saharduin are considered to be an extinct species, although given that several of their ships managed to evade the Imperial blockades, it is entirely possible that colonies of these strange aliens exist in far-flung corners of the galaxy, nursing a hatred for the humans who destroyed their home worlds and waiting for an opportunity to strike back.
