SCP3899 Night Hauler

SCP-3899 aka The Trucker by Night is, in appearance, a Black Peterbilt 379 truck with a trailer attached. SCP-3899's performance exceeds that possible by similarly branded conventional trucks, being capable of reaching speeds in excess of 430 km/h and accelerating or decelerating speeds that would normally cause significant structural damage. SCP-3899 also displays the ability to selectively travel in space over short distances, generally to avoid hitting motorists or other nearby obstacles while traveling at abnormal speeds. These transfer events show up as a sudden disappearance followed by an instant appearance no more than 300 meters in any direction, accompanied by a cloud of thick, black smoke. Samples of this smoke obtained by field agents have invariably consisted of a mixture of diesel combustion by-products, volcanic ash, and pulverized blood that bears no final genetic markings.

SCP-3899 emergency events begin with the object manifesting over a random stretch of interstate highway within the continental United States of America. The object will appear traveling at approximately 3 km/h over the posted speed limit, with a significant distance between it and nearby motorists. SCP-3899 will then attempt to rapidly accelerate to its full speed, using its anomalous transfer ability to avoid any obstacles in its path.

SCP-3899 has only appeared between sunset and sunrise, and will demanifest if touched by direct sunlight. It will also instantly demanifest if his presence results in a car accident (see Addendum 3899-01 for more information).

SCP-3899's operator, designated SCP-3899-1, will transmit over SCP-3899's BC radio circuit at random intervals. SCP-3899-1 engages amicably with contacts who respond to its conversation, though its statements are occasionally incoherent and it has refused to clarify these inconsistencies, their origin, and purpose (see Interview SCP-3899-02). SCP-3899-1 appears only as the silhouette of what appears to be an overweight humanoid wearing a skirted hat. Witness reports assert the presence of smoking, tentacular structures within the cabin accompanying SCP-3899-1. Specific information regarding the physical composition of SCP-3899-1 is not currently available as SCP-3899 has been able to resist all forms of exploration via scanning.
