Robin Redcap is an evil spirit from British folklore and the Familiar of Lord William de Soulis, he is often considered an extremely powerful Redcap but in some versions of the tale he is an alter-ego of the Devil itself, in all versions of the story Robin Redcap is crucial in securing de Soulis' depraved rule over Hermitage Castle by granting him many magical boons.
Legends[]
At some point in time the wicked warlock known as Lord William de Soulis summoned Robin Redcap and made the spirit his personal Familiar, the spirit was quick to pour lavish boons upon his master such as an immunity to all earthly weapons and gleefully tended to Hermitage Castle, engaging in brutal dark magic rituals and defilement of countless victims captured from the hapless citizenry nearby.
Yet despite all their power the villainous pair would, like many tyrants, eventually push their victims too far and de Soulis was captured and boiled alive in a field near the castle, with his master dead Robin Redcap was forced to seemingly flee, however many tales say that Robin Redcap still haunts the lands surrounding Hermitage Castle, tending to a hidden treasure he amassed during his years of robbing the innocent.
Robin Redcap is also said to play a part in the continual return of de Soulis own evil spirit every seven years, where the warlock is said to manifest in the vaults he had tortured many of his victims, causing frightening phantoms to appear and the sound of screams across the castle.
