Rito Revolto is a villainous character from the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He is the brother of Rita Repulsa and son of Master Vile. After learning of his sister's marriage to Lord Zedd, Rito visited the couple bearing gifts in the form of new Tenga Warriors to replace their inferior Putty Patrollers. He would remain at the Moon Palace to aid his sister and brother-in-law in their continued efforts to destroy the Power Rangers and conquer Earth.
History[]
After Rito arrived at the Moon Palace, Rita and Zedd assigned him a mission to destroy the Power Rangers, sending him down to Earth with an entourage of monsters resurrected by Finster. During his first confrontation with the Rangers, Rito succeeded in destroying the team's Thunderzords. However, the Rangers would make a comeback from this defeat after acquiring their Ninjazords from Ninjor. While Rito remained with Lord Zedd and Rita after this, he did not enjoy any further successes.
During his time serving Rita and Zedd, Rito was often partnered up with Goldar, both in battle and during more covert operations. Goldar and Rito greatly disliked one another and both proved to be rather incompetent, letting their bickering get in the way of whatever task was at hand.
Rito and Goldar both suffered amnesia following a successful mission to destroy Zordon's Command Center. Having been too close to the explosion that leveled the Command Center, the two villains awoke with no memory of who they were. After encountering the Power Rangers' long-time frenemies Bulk and Skull, Rito and Goldar offered to become their servants in exchange for a place to stay. Later, Rito was contacted by Rita in his dreams. Rita restored his memory and Rito would rejoin his sister as she and Zedd plotted their revenge against the Machine Empire who had taken control of the Moon.
Rito was last seen going on vacation with Rita and Zedd. He was not present when the Ultimate Alliance of Evil was wiped out by Zordon's energy wave at the end of Power Rangers in Space, so his final fate is unknown.
Personality[]
Rito Revolto has proven to be an effective fighter, but outside of battle he is perhaps the most idiotic of all of Rita and Zedd's henchmen. He is even responsible for ruining many of their plans with his sheer stupidity. He also frequently refers to Lord Zedd as "Edd", much to Zedd's annoyance.
Appearance[]
Rito appears as a skeletal humanoid figure clad in skeletal armour. The whole left side of his body is painted in jungle camouflage patterns while his right side is completely bone white. He wears a military helmet and has numerous small skulls tied to his midriff.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Swordplay - Rito is highly skilled in sword combat and wields a rapier that appears to be made of bones.
- Lightning Blast - Rito can cast blasts of red lightning from his bone sword.
- Flamethrower - Rito also wields a cannon that can launch fireballs and blasts of red electricity.
- Jetpack - The fuel tank for Rito's flamethrower doubles as a jetpack, allowing him to fly.
