Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown V2

The Rings of Ainz Ooal Gown are magical signet rings used by the leadership of Nazarick in the world of Overlord. It gives the wearer the ability to teleport almost anywhere within the Great Tomb. There are 100 rings in total - 41 for the Supreme Beings and 59 spares.

Overview[]

The Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown is a silver wrought ring, an amethyst embedded in its center and the guild's symbol imprinted on the amethyst in black.  Worn only by the members of Ainz Ooal Gown, the original users of the rings were the 41 members of the guild, later known as the Supreme Beings. Following the guild's slow decline and the eventual teleportation of Nazarick to the New World, the guild's only remaining member, Momonga, would give the rings to his servants as rewards, as a means of ensuring their continued loyalty.

The ring grants the user the ability to teleport almost anywhere within the confines of the Necropolis. The only places that the ring cannot teleport someone to are the personal rooms of each of the guild members and the Throne Room on the 10th Floor. This ring was the only way to bypass the wards that would normally block all forms of teleportation magic inside Nazarick. The ring also had two secondary abilities, the first being its ability to resize itself to conform with the size of the user's finger. The other was returning the person wearing the ring straight to the Round Table Room when they logged into YGGDRASIL. However, after the game's shutdown, this ability fell out of use for obvious reasons.

The ring also functions as a trap in the event someone manages to defeat the defenders of Nazarick. Whilst it can allow teleportation into the normally inaccessible Treasury, the most important items in the treasury are guarded by the 37 Avatara. These golems are programmed to attack anyone in possession of a Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown, a feature no one outside of the guild's leadership would be aware of.
