Raphael - or Raph for short - is one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He his recognised by his red bandanna and his weapons of choice, the sai. He is named after the High Renaissance painter Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino.
Overview[]
Raphael is the polar opposite of his older brother Leonardo in many ways. While Leo is calm and thinks things through, Raph tends to be headstrong and aggressive. He is often ruled by his emotions and is quick to anger, leading to him lashing out at others. Though he can be rebellious at times, Raph does care deeply for his brothers and appreciates the lessons that Splinter teaches him.
Abilities and skills[]
Raph's weapons of choice are a pair of Japanese sai used for jabbing opponents and also for blocking sword strikes. While the sai are his usual choice, Raph can easily make do with just about any weapon he gets his hands on. He is very much a brawler and has combined various street-fighting techniques with his ninjutsu training to form an art of combat all his own.
