Ralph was a genetically-modified wolf kaiju who appeared in the 2018 monster movie Rampage.
Description
Once a wild grey wolf inhabiting the forests of Wyoming, after his transformation Ralph stood well over thirty feet tall with wickedly powerful jaws, and possessed of a set of patagia- large flaps of skin stretching between its front and rear legs which allowed it to glide for short distances. Ralph was also able to fire long spines from its back and tail, which were powerful enough to take out military helicopters.
History
Ralph was transformed into a colossal monster after inhaling a gas that contained a pathogen designed to rewrite the genetic makeup of animals. The canister of the substance crashed nearby following the destruction of a corporate research station in orbit.
The owners of the station, a company named Energyne, learned of Ralph’s existence, and dispatched a heavily-armed squad of military specialists tasked with bringing the creature in dead or alive, but Ralph quickly killed and ate the whole group.
After Energyne activated an infrasound beacon specifically designed to drive creatures infected with their pathogen into a frenzy in order to lure Ralph and the two other monstrous victims of their research - George, an albino gorilla, and Lizzie, an American crocodile - to Chicago, where they could be dealt with by the military, Ralph quickly travelled across the country where it proceeded to lay waste to the city. Eventually, George, who had been given an antidote to counteract the aggressive nature of his mutation, battled Ralph and, along with his former handler, managed to trick the beast into flying into the jaws of an enraged Lizzie, who bit its head off, killing it instantly.
