Purity was the central antagonist of the popular and long-running science-fiction/horror series, The X-Files, being the central driving force behind the "Conspiracy" arc, which was the X-Files canonical story (contrasting with the show's popular "monster of the week" episodes).
Purity was also the greater scope villain of the X-Files movie, however, in the revival series its role would be removed and instead focus fell upon the Cigarette Smoking Man.
History[]
Purity is an incredibly ancient and deadly alien parasite and virus, believed to be the "blood" of the Colonists - Purity has been on record as enslaving almost all life in the Galaxy, with only the Faceless Aliens and humanity seeming to be capable of resisting it, taking the form of a black "oil" Purity seeks to expand its influence across all of creation and establish itself as the dominant force of the Galaxy.
Abilities[]
- Parasitic Possession (Purity exists as a black sludge akin to oil, which can enter a living host and turn them into puppets by which it can influence the world, victims are consumed by Purity and will inevitably die of the possession, their eyes also turn pure black as the virus takes over their body and mind.)
- Immortality (Purity is a sentient alien virus that has existed far longer than humanity (possibly even older than life on Earth), its first established contact with humanity being in 35,000BC - it is also an extremely resilient creature and can exist in virtually any environment imaginable, though cold can cause it to enter a state of "hibernation" and some genetic mutations can resist and even kill the otherwise immortal entity, the Syndicate also managed to create a vaccine against it but have kept such knowledge to their elite circle.)
