Papinijuwari are a type of monstrous cyclops found in Australian folklore.

The Papinijuwari are demonic one-eyed giants believed to live in huts where the sky ends and would travel across the heavens with a club and a torch, these torches would be seen as shooting stars to humans as a warning of their arrival.
Papinijuwari would descend upon the Earth and preyed upon the dead and sick, consuming the dead much like ghouls in other cultures while pursuing the sick via supernatural smell, when they found a sick person they would start to consume their blood before shrinking themselves down so as to enter the victim and consume even more of their blood from the inside, ultimately killing them.
