Otachi was a kaiju which appeared in the 2013 monster movie Pacific Rim and its associated media.
Description[]
One of a series of biological war machines sent through the interdimensional portal known as The Breach in order to conquer humanity, Otachi was a Category IV kaiju, and one of the largest of that classification ever recorded, both in size and weight.
Otachi was a quadrupedal creature standing 207 feet tall and weighing in at a staggering 2,690 tons. She was possessed of heavy armour plating across her back and along the length of her long tail, with a pair of prominent bony ridges which projected from the end of her snout. More gangly in appearance than many other kaiju, Otachi was nevertheless a fearsome opponent in battle, with her long forelimbs ending in viciously sharp talons, and the tip of her semi-prehensile tail was able to split in three to form a spiked claw-like appendage with which to strike at her opponents. In addition, Otachi’s lower jaw could be split in two to give her an extra-wide bite radius, and she was capable of spitting a highly corrosive blue liquid at her opponents which was powerful enough to melt through even toughened metals. As if all of this was not enough, her forelimbs also housed a set of expansive wings which she could use to fly to the very edge of the atmosphere, and was capable of carrying extremely heavy loads with her rear claws while doing so.
History[]
During the “Double Event” of January 8th, 2025, when Otachi and Leatherback emerged from The Breach to hunt down a human in Sydney who had been foolish enough to merge his consciousness with that of a deceased kaiju, the Jaegers (massive piloted robots designed solely for combat with the invaders) Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon and Striker Eureka were deployed to stop them.
Quickly disposing of Crimson Typhoon by tearing its pilots to pieces with her tail claw, Otachi then spat her acid at Cherno Alpha, before leaving the stricken Jaeger to be finished off by Leatherback. Otachi subsequently turned her attention to Sydney in order to hunt down her real prey.
Unfortunately for Otachi, Leatherback was killed by the freshly-deployed Jaeger Gipsy Danger who, after being gripped in Otachi’s rear talons and carried high above the battleground, used its arm-mounted chainblade to slice the kaiju in half, killing the beast once and for all.
