Omukade

an Omukade is an exceptionally large and powerful yokai-beast from Japanese folklore and mythology that takes the form of a centipede so large it can curl itself around entire mountains.

One such creature became so troublesome for early Japan that the legendary hero known as Fujiwara no Hidesato would be forced to slay one by first enchanting his arrow with his own saliva (having been informed that this is one of Omukade's only weaknesses), in order to ensure his arrow could penetrate the otherwise invulnerable plating of the creature he made a prayer to the god Hachiman, which granted the arrow the capability to slay the Omukade and earned him great rewards.
