Omastar

Omastar is a dual-type Pokémon of the Water and Rock types. Previously thought extinct, it has been resurrected in modern times thanks to human genetic science. It is the evolved form of Omanyte, which was resurrected from DNA extracted from a Helix Fossil.

Pokédex Data[]

Omastar is a cephalopod mollusk Pokémon similar to an ammonite. Its sky blue body has several tentacles; the tentacles toward the front are shorter and thicker than those in the back. It sports a pair of pale-yellow eyes with vertical pupils and a rounded mouth with a four-sectioned beak. Its shell has developed sharp spikes which are hard enough to crack rock if struck with enough force.

Omastar is believed to be the prehistoric ancestor to Octillery. In the past, it was prey to another ancient Pokémon, Carracosta. Its own prey includes the Shellfish Pokémon, Shellder; after seizing prey, it would use its powerful beak to break the shell of its victim before sucking out the soft innards.

Abilities[]

  • Withdraw - When threatened, Omastar will retreat into its shell to protect itself.
  • Brine - Omastar sprays seawater at high pressure from its mouth to fend off enemies.
  • Crunch - Omastar's beak bites with extreme pressure, inflicting high damage.
  • Shell Smash - Using either its beak or its own spiked shell, Omastar strikes with an attack intended to shatter the enemy's defences.
