Ogra is a creature which appears in the 1961 creature-feature Gorgo and its spin-off novel and comic books.
Description[]
Standing fully two hundred feet tall, Ogra was a massive reptilian beast with a highly durable, scaly skin and enormous claws on both her front and hind limbs. She was bipedal in nature and displayed an extremely strong maternal instinct.
History[]
Awakened by a fierce volcanic eruption off the coast of Ireland, after her son Gorgo was captured by humans and put on display in Battersea Park, Ogra tracked him down and proceeded to lay waste to central London despite the best efforts of the British Army and Royal Air Force. Finally freeing her offspring, the pair made their way back to the ocean, where they presumably lived out the rest of their lives undisturbed.
