The Nurses are mortal servants of Resurrectionist Master Douglas McMourning which feature in Wyrd Games’ Malifaux universe.
Description[]
Whilst appearing as women of great physical beauty, the old adage “beauty is only skin deep” is something that holds especially true for the Nurses. In exchange for eternal good looks, the Nurses offer their assistance in the mutilation and empowering of those corpses which Dr. McMourning has selected to be his latest minions. That they literally wear the faces of those blessed with natural attractiveness stitched to their own heads means nothing to the Nurses, only that they look fabulous whilst performing their duties.
Nurses are nearly always encountered carrying a selection of vials and syringes of various different toxins and elixirs, with which to either enhance a future subject of the good doctor’s ministrations, or simply murder said individual before dragging her off to become one of his subjects.
They are also tasked with the development of their own compounds, the results of which are followed with great interest by McMourning. However, due to the lack of medical training undergone by most Nurses, and the haphazard nature of the trial-and-error processes through which such potions are usually created, the - normally messy and fatal - results are viewed as more of a humorous sideshow by the doctor, rather than real scientific experimentation.
It should be noted that whilst the nurses display enormous physical attraction, Dr. McMourning shows no interest in them from a sexual standpoint; to him, they are nothing more than a way to gather more subjects for his tests, or simply as test subjects themselves, should they displease him.
