Nure Onago are ghostly yokai from Japanese folklore and mythology, they take the form of young women who are constantly dripping in swamp water, often with dead leaves and other debris stuck all over their otherwise naked bodies. They are constantly surrounded by a foul smell of mildew and rot; in addition, their very presence causes rain and water to collect around them.
Nure Onago crave human companionship, being the spirits of women who lost loved ones to drowning. If approached with kindness by anyone, they will follow them around forever. While the Nure Onago is not evil by nature, the constant stench they produce and the rain that follows them will inevitably ruin a person's life if they are not dealt with swiftly.
