Ninetales is a Fire-type Pokémon and the evolved form of Vulpix. As its name suggests, it has nine luxuriously soft and long tails.

Ninetales is said to live within grassy plains, though they are rarely seen in the wild. This Pokémon possesses mystical powers that supposedly allow it to control the minds of others as well as live for a thousand years. Ninetales is capable of perfectly understanding human speech. Though generally very friendly towards its Trainer, if it is mistreated, it will exact terrible vengeance by cursing its tormentor.
Alolan variant[]
The Alolan variant of Ninetales is a dual-type Pokémon of the Ice and Fairy types. Its body is covered in pale blue fur with pure white on its paws and tail tips. Its tails and mane flow elegantly even when there is no wind.
The residents of Alola revere Ninetales as a holy spirit and messenger. It has a gentle temperament and is known to help humans in distress, but s also highly territorial and will exact terrible vengeance upon those that violate its domain.

- Drought - Ninetales summons sunlight as soon as it enters battle. The sun's rays increase the power of its fire attacks.
- Flamethrower - Ninetales breathes a stream of flame to immolate its opponent.
- Overheat - Ninetales releases a wave of intense flames from its body, burning everything around it.
- Payback - Ninetales strikes with a malicious attack that deals extra damage when used to retaliate against the opponent's attack.
- Dazzling Gleam - The Alolan Ninetales releases a burst of magical light that inflicts heavy damage on its opponent.
- Ice Beam - The Alolan Ninetales fires a ray of cold that deals high damage and may freeze the target in their tracks.
