Mutavore was a kaiju which appeared in the 2013 monster movie Pacific Rim and its associated media.
Description[]
One of the biological weapons sent through the interdimensional portal known as The Breach to conquer humanity, Mutavore was classified as a Category IV kaiju.
Standing 295 feet tall and weighing in at 2,630 tons, Mutavore was a bipedal creature, although it appeared to prefer walking on all fours in much the same way as a terrestrial ape. It was possessed of a blade-like protrusion which ran from the tip of its jaw down to its mid chest. A trio of similar structures sprouted from its back, and its forelimbs ended in two-fingered “hands” covered in wickedly sharp, armoured talons. It also had three eyes on each side of its massive head.
Interestingly, Mutavore sported a pair of small, almost vestigial limbs from its lower torso which, while appearing sharp, seemed to have no specific purpose.
History[]
After emerging from The Breach on the 1st January, 2025, Mutavore made straight for the Australian city of Sydney. There, it tore down the anti-kaiju fortifications built to defend against just such an attack in under an hour.
Fortunately for the residents of Sydney, the recently decommissioned Jaegar (colossal piloted robots built for the specific role of battle against the kaiju threat) Striker Eureka was deployed, and made short work of Mutavore through the use of its chest-mounted multiple rocket launcher system.
