Hello, Devo DrakeFox. I recently created an article about Legendary Pokémon and someone told me you resposible for managing all things Pokémon on this wiki. This person also told me I should go to you what do the article I made and you would prefer to merge it with the main Pokémon article.
That's right. Since I've been the only one adding Pokemon content until now, I've established a particular system when it comes to adding anything Pokemon-related. I thought it best to limit Pokemon content to the Pokemon themselves as well as a single hub page, so any information on sub-categories of Pokemon should go there. Also, when making new Pokemon pages, go in the order of the National Pokedex. So far we're still on Generation I and the last Pokemon added was Dewgong, so there's still everything from Grimer to Mew before going on to Generation II.
Lastly, if you've looked at any of the individual Pokemon pages, you can see how they are laid out and only include four abilities under the Ability heading, a little nod to the game formula of only being able to teach Pokemon four moves. I've included moves that the Pokemon in question would learn naturally as opposed to TM's, with one or two exceptions to HM moves if the Pokemon's physiology appears capable of performing said moves.
Just to let you know, I’ve blocked a user who was questioning the reasons for Carver’s block. As his subsequent edit was one which matched the pattern of Carvers, I think he’s sockpuppeting, so he’s gone now too. Keep your eyes peeled, I don’t think this’ll be the last we hear of it.
FFS, he just won't quit. I threatened to block him from Movie Morgue if he didn't drop this subject and half an hour later he STILL keeps pushing it. But banning him from there wasn't enough because he's been posting me more messages on nearly every other wiki I visit! Does this guy have nothing better to do!?
Sorry for venting, but it's just frustrating to have to deal with folks who just refuse to get the message.
You are technically correct (the best kind of correct :P), though it's co-owned by Square-Enix. I had kept the Disney tag limited to monsters from classic Disney films, but I suppose I can include all the KH content with that.
I know we’ve been through this on a couple of occasions, but I’d like to open Monster Wiki up to unregistered users, at least for a trial period (third time’s the charm). If you’re firmly against this, I won’t, but I reckon we’re losing contributors because we’re closed. Right now we have two decent contributors, me and you. I know that your strongpoint is article creation and wiki building, but I think that we can do better with some random input.
Well we actually have three decent contributors now that Death has resurfaced, but I see your point. I'm still not entirely onboard with the idea, but if you think we can actually get some good contributions out of this then go for it. We can always reinstate the block if it doesn't work out.
Well, the thing is, we don’t know if Death really has resurfaced. I’ve been on a lot of wikis and seen dinosaurs come back up for a day or two, only to drop out of sight again. As good a contributor as Death is, he’s only been back for a few hours.
I’m not 100% convinced that we can get good editors out of this, but who knows?
Hopefully Death does come back full time, but we can’t rely on things like that happening. At the moment it’s me and you holding Monster up, and I’m not getting any younger.
I’ve added a page on the Metatron as I absolutely love that movie, and I think it’s something of a sin (joke intended) not to have him here when we’ve got a Dogma category. I understand that it’s something that you started off, so feel free to add to it/rewrite if you think there’s anything wrong or missing. I was planning on adding a couple of the other characters too, unless you want to write the pages yourself. Let me know,
Just wanted to say that I’m so glad that you’re tackling the Digimon stuff. There are so many redlinks here. I’ve been trying to knock off a couple every time I’m editing, but it’s a bit overwhelming. Also, there are a lot of things that I just don’t have any interest in.
I’ve also seen that someone has been adding images as a gallery to pages, then deleting them a couple of hours later. We’ll need to keep an eye on that.
Danielle added galleries to some of the Digimon pages. I deleted them because I didn't think they really added much.
Also, apologies for all the redlinks I've been adding, but with Digimon content that's kind of inevitable because there's so many different evolutions. Besides which, since Digimon don't have a numerical cataloguing system like Pokemon, I've been adding them by evolutionary level. I've just now finished adding all of the Newborn level creatures, so I'll be moving onto the Baby level entries later.
No need to apologise for leaving redlinks, there are always going to be some lying around. I’ve just been trying to sort the ones I know something about, and it’s a bit exhausting.
Sorry, I didn’t realise that it was you who undid the galleries, I scanned it, and I guess that I just saw Danielle in the revision and assumed that it was her. But you’re absolutely right, they added nothing to the pages, and they weren’t even in gallery format.
