In Greek mythology, Menoetius (whose name literally translates as "doomed power") was one of the second generation of Titans, a group of primordial superbeings who fought the Olympian pantheon of gods but were eventually cast down by them.

Overview[]

Little is known of Menoetius, other than the fact that he was a creature full of pride and arrogance. During the Titanomachy, the ten-year war for the Heavens fought between the Titans under Cronus and the Olympian gods led by Zeus, Menoetius was killed by Zeus himself. Upon the peak of Mount Triphyle, the future King of the Gods struck Menoetius down with a bolt of lightning, and subsequently banished the giant's soul to the Pit of Tartarus for all eternity.
