The Lithards are a species of alien dragonoid creatures who appear in the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired Cthulhu Mythos.
Description[]
Resembling the enormous dragons of Terran mythology, the Lithards are great, scaled, winged creatures with a high degree of intelligence and the ability to converse in English. They are a sociable race who live in communal groups, with a single female dragon assigned to the protection of all the eggs from a given colony. In addition to being capable of flight, Lithards are also very much at home in water, and appear to enjoy raising their hatchlings in large freshwater bodies.
Whether or not they are native to the realm of Elysia is unknown.
History[]
When interdimensional time-traveller Titus Crow came to Elysia, he was gifted the services of a Lithard. This creature flew him across the land, showing him the wonders of that strange place, and was delighted when Crow happily played with the hatchlings in their communal lake. It was so enamoured with the man, in fact, that it even allowed him to visit the subterranean nursery where the Lithard eggs were incubated.

- The name “Lithard” may not be the correct term for these creatures: as their reptilian mouths have trouble forming certain syllables in the English language, it is entirely possible that they are simply called “Lizards.”.
