Lilith is a being who features heavily in the mythology of White Wolf Publishing’s World of Darkness setting.
Description[]
As with all tales of this period, Lilith’s legend features a number of conflicting accounts. Which of these is true is a matter for the reader to decide.
One story states that Lilith was in fact the first wife of biblical Adam, equal to him in every manner. When Lilith decided to part ways with Adam, God banished her forever from the Garden of Eden, cursing her to wander the Earth and never know the love of another.
A different account offers that Adam attempted to - and may actually have succeeded in - forcing himself upon Lilith, an act which may or may not have resulted in the birth of Ennoia, the Third Generation founder of the Gangrel Clan of vampires.
Yet a third tale tells that Lilith embarked upon a series of liaisons with several celestial beings, including Lucifer. Ultimately abandoned by them all, she eventually found and took in Caine, the First Vampire. Nurturing and healing him, she then taught Caine the secrets of dark magic, the knowledge of which he would ultimately use to craft the powers known as Disciplines used by all other vampires to this day.
Whatever the case, many in the World of Darkness believe that Lilith walks the world to this day, forever seeking something she may may never find.
