The Lightning Master is an enemy that appears in the night-time stages of Sonic Unleashed. It is a variant of the Dark Master, an intelligent Dark Gaia minion with a humanoid appearance.
The Lightning Master's form consists of shamrock-green robes with glowing yellow markings and yellow eyes beneath its hood. It carries a staff that allows it to conjure and manipulate electricity, emitting blasts of electrical energy that can paralyse Sonic on the spot if it makes contact. When casting, the Lightning Master is surrounded by a circular seal.
As well as using lightning magic, the Lightning Master is also adept at stick fighting. If Sonic is close to it, it will attack by swinging its staff. The staff enlarges when swung. Like the other Master variants, the Lightning Master will also teleport around the battlefield to avoid being struck.
