On Babylonian mythology, The Kulilu is destructive spirit half-man and half-fish. The same word, kulilu, in the Sumerian language indicates "river locusts", a type of insect that proliferated during flood periods, and which could be dragonflies or mayflies.

The geological formation Kulilu Cavus, on the surface of Triton, was named in honor of Kulilu.
