The Chalcotauri are mythical creatures which appeared in the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece, the Chalcotauri had both bronze hooves, and mouths through which they were able to breathe fire. Jason is promised the prized fleece by King Aeetes if he can first yoke the Chalcotauri and use them to plow a field. Jason was able to survived the fire from the Chalcotauri because of a special potion made for him by Medea, Aeetes' own daughter who had fallen in love with Jason.
