Kaiju no 8 anime Kaiju No 10 character render

Kaiju No. 10 is a prominent antagonist in Kaiju No. 8. As one of the numbered kaiju, he makes his debut during a large-scale assault on Tachikawa Base, where he commands a horde of Wyvern-Type Kaiju. Despite his strength and leadership, he is ultimately defeated in battle by Soshiro Hoshina, the vice-captain of the Third Division. Following his capture, Kaiju No. 10 is held in confinement for study and experimentation. He is later revealed to be created by Kaiju No. 9.

Appearance[]

Kaiju No. 10 has a powerful, humanoid build with a broad, muscular frame, a prominent tail, and a distinctive horn-shaped head. His mouth features two layers of teeth—the outer row is sharp and jagged, concealing a second, more human-like set beneath. His single eye is located deep within his head, adding to his intimidating appearance.

When activating his gigantification ability, his size increases dramatically, with his body mass expanding significantly to enhance his physical presence and strength.

Personality[]

Kaiju No. 10 is a proud and battle-hungry kaiju who relentlessly seeks out the most powerful opponents within the Defense Force. Much like Kaiju No. 9, he stands out as one of the rare kaiju capable of speech, showcasing a level of intelligence far beyond that of typical monsters. Driven by a thirst for combat, he sees his adversaries as prey and shows no mercy during battle. However, he holds a certain respect for those who prove to be worthy foes, often expressing a desire to consume them and absorb their strength.

After being defeated by Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina and subsequently imprisoned, Kaiju No. 10 acknowledged Hoshina's formidable power. Rather than harboring resentment, he expressed a wish to fight alongside him—as his weapon. His outlook suggests that he doesn’t align himself with kaiju or humans, instead valuing strength above all else, regardless of origin.

Abilities[]

Kaiju No. 10 is a highly formidable Identified Kaiju, initially registering a fortitude level of 8.3, which later increased to 9.0 after unleashing its full power and undergoing gigantification. Even after being reduced to nothing more than a severed head, it still maintained a significant fortitude level of 5.7, a testament to its resilience. Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina himself recognized No. 10 as a threat comparable to Kaiju No. 8, as it was able to withstand repeated assaults from him.
