Kabutops

Kabutops is a dual-type Pokémon of the Water and Rock types. Previously thought extinct, it has been resurrected in modern times thanks to human genetic science. It is the evolved form of Kabuto, which was resurrected from DNA extracted from a Dome Fossil.

Pokédex Data[]

Kabutops is a bipedal Pokémon with a body structure similar to an insect, although it is actually a crustacean. Its flat head is crescent-shaped and its two arms each end in a scythe-like blade. Its body is covered in primarily brown chitin with grey chitin covering its chest and pelvis. A number of spikes cover its back and it sports two clawed toes on each foot.

Before it went extinct, Kabutops was in the process of evolving into a land dweller as evident by changes in its gills and legs. This change is thought to be due to its prey moving onto land as well. In its ocean home Kabutops could tuck up its limbs to help it swim extremely fast, up to roughly 29 knots. It used its sharp scythes to slice enemies and drink their internal fluids. Any leftovers would be consumed by other Pokémon. It is unknown what led to Kabutops's extinction.

Abilities[]

  • Slash - Kabutops uses its sharp scythe blades to cut through enemies and obstacles.
  • Leech Life - Kabutops feeds on the internal fluids of other Pokémon to sustain itself.
  • Protect - Kabutops' chitinous skin hardens and it adopts a defensive stance to withstand an incoming attack.
  • Brine - Kabutops sprays a jet of salt water to inflict damage upon a foe and agitate a foes existing wounds.
