James P. Sullivan is the main protagonist of Monsters Incorporated.
History[]
Sully is first seen being woken up by Mike. After reviewing scare methods, the pair make their way to work. Soon he and Mike begin their respective shifts. However, he was scared of humans as they were of them. Soon Sully notices a young girl enter the monster world. He names the girl Boo and tries to keep her a secret. Around this time he questions the toxic human stories.
Some time later, Sully and Mike become fugitives after an incident at a sushi restaurant. Later on, he discovers Mr. Waternoose has sinister plans for the girl and banishes the pair to the human world. Despite the rift between him and Mike, Sully plans on saving Boo. Soon after returning, Sully is attacked by Randall. After a bit of fighting, Mike causes Sully to defeat his foe. Later on, he sends Randall to the human world.
After attempting to return Boo to her world, Waternoose tries one last time to capture the girl. However it turns out Mike and Sully revealed that he recorded Waternoose admitting that he was going to kidnap more kids in order to save his company. While the corrupt CEO is arrested, Sully reluctantly says goodbye to Boo and her door is shredded. Even more heartbreaking is that the company is shut down. However Sully gets an idea after hearing Mike say they had good times.
Sometime later, Monsters Incorporated is back with new sources of power: laughter. Sully even becomes the new CEO of the company. However he misses his friend. Soon Mike reveals he fixed the door to her bedroom and they reunite. After a while, they put on a play originated from a fib they told and it becomes a massive hit.
