The Hysteric is a variant of the Lost in the survival-horror game, The Evil Within 2. Encountered by Sebastian Castellanos in the Marrow, a sub-level of MOBIUS' STEM system, Hysterics are somewhat hardier than typical Lost.
Appearance[]
Hysterics appear to be exclusively female and wear white one-piece dresses that are tarnished with blood. They are gaunt, wirey creatures with deathly-white skin, their fingers elongated into sharp claws. Closer examination of a Hysteric's head reveals that the cranium is expanded, their eyes further apart than those of a regular human.
Behaviour[]
Hysterics tend to keep to themselves and are encountered a fair distance apart from one another, making combat with them relatively easier. Like the Lost, they stagger about idly muttering incoherently, but when approached, they will fly into a bloodthirsty frenzy. They wield knives and attack by wildly slashing at their prey. They have a tendency to suddenly enter a burst of speed as they shuffle towards Sebastian.
Combat[]
Hysterics are somewhat tougher than the Lost; their heads are reinforced and resistant to gunshots, and unlike regular Lost, it takes at least two stealth attacks to kill one.
