The Hulk is the central antagonist of the infamous Old Man Logan comic book. He is a nightmarish future version of the heroic gamma-mutated behemoth found in the immensely popular Incredible Hulk series but is completely devoid of any humanity and has instead embraced his most animalistic, destructive impulses.

History[]

During the events of Old Man Logan, the world was plunged into terrible warfare after villains finally gathered together and worked as a unified force, resulting in a path of devastation that left most of North America a barren wasteland. Amidst this chaos, Hulk would degenerate into a feral monstrosity and took to inbreeding with his cousin, She-Hulk, creating the Hulk Gang, who would terrorize the wastes and regularly antagonize anyone they came across.

The Hulk Gang had particular interest with Logan, who had retired from his previous life as Wolverine following being tricked into murdering the X-Men by Mysterio. The Hulk Gang frequently harassed Logan and his family, yet were tolerated as a necessary evil for a "quiet life": that was until Hulk decided he had grown "bored" of a lack of proper conflict and ordered the Hulk Gang to brutally murder Lorgan's family.

As expected, this caused Logan to return to "service" as Wolverine, exacting a bloody revenge on those that had killed his family and robbed him of his peace. Hulk was delighted at this and didn't care about the deaths of his clan, since he only truly desired one "final" fight with his old nemesis, which he ended by growing to gigantic size and devouring Logan whole. This act would prove fatal to the insane Bruce, however, as Logan survived and slashed his way free, killing the Hulk from within.

Notes[]

Other evil versions of the Hulk include:

  • Maestro - another dystopian future-version of Hulk, the main antagonist of the Future Imperfect story-arc.
  • Devil Hulk - one of the Hulk's darkest incarnations, depicting his broken ideal of a protector as well as his misanthropic side (currently the villainous protagonist of Immortal Hulk)
  • Guilt Hulk - a manifestation of Banner's guilt.
  • Mindless Hulk - a version of Hulk completely stripped of any sanity, caused by alteration by Nightmare.
  • Kluh - a brief Hulk variant, described as "Hulk's Hulk".
