Horsea

Horsea is a Water-type Pokémon that can be found in most oceans. It belongs to the Dragon Pokémon family, though it is not a Dragon-type Pokémon itself.

Pokédex Data[]

Horsea is a small seahorse Pokémon with blue scaly skin, cream-coloured belly scales, a cream dorsal fin and red eyes. It also has a tube-shaped mouth and three spines on either side of its head. Highly adept in the water, it uses its dorsal fin to swim in any direction while facing forward. It has a tightly curled tail that it can use as both a balance and an anchor when caught in a strong current. In safer environments, it uses its tail to play with other members of its species.

Horsea primarily feeds on moss and sea-dwelling insects. When hunting for food, it will snipe insects travelling just above the water's surface by shooting fine jets of water from its mouth. It may also spit ink from its mouth in order to distract predators long enough for it to escape from danger.

Horsea will make their nests in coral reefs located in oceans with gentle currents. They produce many eggs each year, with the young being cared for by the male parents rather than the females.

Abilities[]

  • Water Gun - Horsea shoots a a swift, high-pressure water projectile at its opponent.
  • Smokescreen - Horsea spits a cloud of ink into the water to obscure its enemy's vision, giving itself time to flee.
  • Twister - Horsea produces a small vortex to hurt the opponent and make them flinch.
  • Agility - Horsea swims rapidly to evade incoming attacks.

Evolution[]

Horsea evolves into Seadra at Level 32.
